The Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets will hold a hearing titled “Restoring Public Trust Through UAP Transparency and Whistleblower Protection” on September 9, 2025. The session will focus on concerns about the disclosure of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) and information maintained by federal agencies. Lawmakers are expected to examine transparency issues related to the Department of Defense (DoD) and the intelligence community, as well as assess the work of DoD’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO).

Task Force Chairwoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) stated, “The American people deserve maximum transparency from the federal government on sightings, acquisitions, and examinations of UAPs and whether they pose a potential threat to Americans’ safety. Whistleblowers who provide details on spending information and policies and procedures regarding the classification and declassification of UAPs should be able to do so without retribution. I look forward to hearing from witnesses on how the federal government can improve transparency and provide better answers on UAPs.”

The hearing is scheduled for 10:00 AM EST in HVC-210 at the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center. Witnesses will include Jeffrey Nuccetelli, a U.S. Air Force veteran; Chief Alexandro Wiggins, a UAP witness; George Knapp, a journalist covering UAP topics; and Dylan Borland, another UAP witness and Air Force veteran.

Members of the press and public are invited to attend or watch via livestream. Press attendees must RSVP by September 8 at noon ET.
