Murray State Baseball will face the Lindenwood Lions from March 13 to 15 in St. Charles, Missouri, as the team concludes its non-conference schedule before entering Missouri Valley Conference play.
This weekend’s series is important for Murray State as it seeks to regain momentum on the road. The Racers currently hold an 11-6 record but have struggled away from home, with a 1-5 mark following a winless trip to Orlando. The upcoming games offer a chance to stabilize their performance before conference competition begins.
Luke Mistone is expected to be a key player for the Racers after achieving career highs in hits, runs scored, and RBIs during their recent victory over Kentucky State. His strong showing has made him a central figure in the lineup heading into the Lindenwood series.
Lindenwood enters with an 8-9 record and has won three of its last four games, including a sweep of Bradley. Jake Radosevich leads the Lions’ offense with a 1.076 OPS through 17 games and tops his team in home runs, RBIs, walks, and batting average. This presents a significant challenge for Murray State’s pitching staff.
The Racers have won all five previous meetings against Lindenwood in what has been a one-sided series so far. For this weekend’s rotation, Nic Schutte will start on Friday and Jacob Hustedde will pitch Saturday; Sunday’s starter remains undecided. Schutte recently earned national recognition by being named to the College Baseball Hall of Fame’s National Pitcher of the Year Watchlist and holds a 3.68 ERA with 21 strikeouts over 22 innings pitched.
With conference play approaching, both teams are looking to build momentum from this final non-conference matchup.
