The Murray State Racers will host the Valparaiso Beacons for a Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) weekend softball series at Racer Field in Murray, Kentucky, with games scheduled for Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14.
This matchup is significant as both teams share identical overall records of 9-12 but are positioned differently in the conference standings. The Racers currently sit sixth in the MVC after splitting their opening weekend doubleheader against UNI, while Valparaiso is at the bottom of the standings following two losses to Southern Illinois.

Valparaiso enters having lost its first two conference games but boasts one of the top batting averages in the MVC at .293 and leads all teams with 160 hits. Madison Vrastil is second in stolen bases within the conference. Pitcher Sydney McDermott has seven wins and ranks third in strikeouts among MVC pitchers.
