Paducah Receives Sixth Boaters Choice Award for Boat Dock

Marinas.com has notified the City of Paducah that Paducah’s Transient Boat Dock is a recipient of the 2022 Boaters’ Choice Award.  This is the sixth consecutive year for Paducah to receive the award which honors marinas and docks that consistently provide an excellent home for the boating community and received the most praise throughout the year from boaters.

“We strive to provide a welcoming experience for those using our facilities and visiting our community,” said City Manager Daron Jordan, an avid boater.  “We are pleased that for six consecutive years, Paducah’s dock has received positive feedback from the boating community.  Each review is valuable as our team works to make each boater’s stay safe, reliable, and enjoyable.”

Parks & Recreation Department Director Amie Clark said, “Whether a first time or seasoned visitor, we are thankful for the boaters who stop here to visit our river town.  We appreciate the feedback about our amenities and services, as they help provide us opportunities to continue to improve.  Our department works hard to create a welcoming environment, and I am happy to see that our efforts are producing positive experiences for those visitors.”

The Boaters’ Choice Award is based on reviews by boaters.  To be recognized, each facility had to receive at least three reviews averaging a rating of four or more stars out of five stars.

Below are a few of the reviews posted by boaters who enjoyed Paducah’s amenities in 2022.

•    Perfect for what was described. The dock looks brand new and looks like it will make it through some serious floods. Staff was helpful and friendly. The town was an easy walk to museums and restaurants.

•    Fantastic stop. So much to do. Great restaurants and pubs…. And don’t miss the National Quilting Museum.

•    Dock was in great condition and very sturdy. If you need fuel just call the number and the city will send someone down. Easy walk into a great town with lots to see and do.

•    We had a fantastic stay in Paducah. We enjoyed exploring the charming downtown, eating at some of the terrific restaurants, and checking out the gift shops. We were amazed by the quilt museum. As Loopers, we greatly appreciated the opportunity to spend a couple of comfortable nights at such a well-kept, clean, city dock and to be so close to town. Thank you, Paducah!!

In 2022, Paducah’s Dock had 608 reservations with boaters spending a total of 863 nights.  For comparison, in 2021 Paducah’s Dock had 491 reservations with boaters spending a total of 847 nights.

Paducah’s 340-foot long boat dock is located downstream from the heart of historic downtown Paducah and provides space for boaters to enjoy Paducah by spending a few hours or several nights.  Amenities include fuel (diesel and marine grade gasoline) and power pedestals.  The availability of water and the sewer pumpout station is seasonal with both of those amenities currently drained and winterized to prevent the freezing of pipes.

According to its website, Marinas.com provides boaters with comprehensive information on more than 75,000 marinas, anchorages, and marine locations.
