Racers Finish on Top Home Outdoor Opener

Murray State track and field finished first overall as they hosted the Margaret Simmons Invite presented by The Murray Insurance Agency, Saturday.

The Racers saw a total of six first-place finishes.

Head coach Adam Kiesler said hosting a home meet always brings a good atmosphere.

“It’s always fun to host a meet in front of friend and family. Our seniors have put a lot into this program and to be able to recognize them is great,” said Kiesler.

“We thank everyone for coming to run, work and spectate.”

Meghan Fletcher highlights the invitational as she placed first in the high jump (1.74m) and second in the heptathlon (4385 points).

“I credit Fletch for coming back after a multi and doing well in the open high jump. Overall we continue to keep May in the forefront of our goals and know this was just a step to getting there.”

The Racers will travel to SEMO for the Joey Haines Invite, April 1st.
