81 percent of applicants to Murray State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Murray State University, 85 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Murray enrolled 9,454 students in fall 2018, including 8,056 in undergraduate and 1,398 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

66 percent of undergraduates are residents of Kentucky, and 33 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (82 percent) and Black or African American (6 percent).

The school admitted 81 percent of the 8,256 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 20 percent enrolled.
