Thank You to Departments Following Snow Event and Holiday Schedules

Mayor George Bray and the Paducah City Commission want to pass along a sincere thank you to city departments especially the Public Works Department for their work over the past two weeks.  The end of 2022 brought extreme cold, a snow event requiring snowplowing along with the salting and brining of roadways, and holiday garbage and recycling collection schedules that required crews to double up collection routes and work long hours in a shortened work week.

In reflecting on the past two weeks and the hard work performed by city departments for all of 2022, Mayor Bray said, “One element of our daily lives that all of us as Paducah citizens often take for granted is garbage collection along with snow removal during extreme winter weather events. I want to express my sincere appreciation to Paducah’s Public Works employees for their dedication over the past couple of weeks and all of 2022 in executing the collection of trash and other city support services in a professional and timely manner.  Their hard work is noticed and much appreciated.”

Crews with the Parks & Recreation Department assist during snow and ice events by clearing the parking lots for City Hall, the Paducah Police Department, and the City’s five fire stations.  Crews also worked to clear the roadways in Noble Park so that Paducah Power System’s Christmas in the Park event could continue.  Park Rangers work holiday schedules to open restroom facilities and the gates to certain parks.

The City of Paducah Public Works Department has released the 2023 schedule for garbage collection and recycling changes due to holidays.
