WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) recently honored Tasha Uland of Bowling Green, Kentucky, for her outstanding work in the field of adoption. McConnell welcomed Tasha and her husband, Will Uland, to his office in the U.S. Capitol to personally congratulate her on being recognized as an Angel in Adoption for 2023. Senator McConnell had nominated Tasha for this prestigious honor.

Tasha and Will Uland began their adoption journey almost twenty years ago, driven by their deep desire to grow their family through adoption. During this process, Tasha's commitment to helping children in need only grew stronger. In 2010, Tasha and her husband traveled to China for three weeks and witnessed the dire situation in overrun orphanages. This experience deepened Tasha's dedication to finding safe and nurturing homes for these vulnerable children. After careful consideration, research, and prayer, Tasha and Will decided to provide a loving home for two daughters from China.

Tasha's passion for adoption led her to become an Adoption Specialist for Adoption Assistance. Initially focused on preparing families for the adoption process, Tasha now dedicates her time to supporting birthmothers facing difficult decisions. She strongly believes in offering birthmothers counseling and regularly speaks with visitors at pregnancy centers across Kentucky.

Senator McConnell expressed his admiration for Tasha's work, stating, "It was an honor to welcome Tasha and Will Uland to Washington and hear their incredible story. Tasha’s commitment to building loving homes for children in need is inspiring, and I’m grateful to have such passionate adoption advocates, like her, in the Commonwealth."

Tasha Uland herself expressed her gratitude to Senator McConnell, saying, "There is no greater job than finding loving families for children in need. Thank you, Senator McConnell, for helping raise adoption awareness and supporting Kentucky families like ours. The bond our adopted daughters share, along with our biological children, is indescribable."

The Angels in Adoption campaign is an initiative by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute to raise public awareness about the importance of adoption and recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to improving the lives of children in need of a loving family.
