WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) recently shared his insights on various pressing issues during an interview with Dana Perino on Fox’s ‘America’s Newsroom’.

Regarding the aid to Ukraine, McConnell emphasized the importance of supporting the country, stating, "It's actually only .2% of our gross domestic product. So put in that context: it is not a lot of money for us, but it is a very significant step for them, because it gives them the more sophisticated weapons they need to hold the Russians at bay." He highlighted the significance of helping Ukraine defend its independence and deter a major adversary.

Reflecting on President Biden’s response to aiding Ukraine, McConnell criticized the delayed actions, noting, “The president made two big mistakes...We tended to react too slowly. So the administration did make a number of mistakes, but at least, at this point, after a long delay, we've all come together and done what needed to be done to help the Ukrainians.”

Switching to the border crisis, McConnell expressed his concerns, calling it "an unmitigated disaster for this administration and our country." He emphasized the need to address the border situation promptly while also supporting democratically elected countries in standing up to global challenges.

On the topic of national security and the divestment of TikTok, McConnell underscored the importance of safeguarding national interests, stating, “Let me tell you what that was about, that was about national security...we were all concerned about the control of TikTok by the Chinese.”
