“I was glad to meet today with President-elect Trump’s nominee to serve as Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent," McConnell stated. He expressed concerns about economic issues stemming from what he described as "the Biden Administration’s runaway spending," which he claims resulted in significant inflation.
McConnell emphasized the need for experienced leadership at the Treasury Department, noting, "Righting the ship will require a steady hand and deep expertise." He voiced support for Trump's decision, stating, "The President-elect was right to turn to Mr. Bessent to lead the Treasury Department through this vital work."
