U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, who chairs the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, recently held a meeting with General C.Q. Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Following their discussion, Senator McConnell shared his reflections on the meeting.
"I was glad to meet today with General C.Q. Brown, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. We had a frank and productive conversation about growing threats to America’s global interests," McConnell stated.
The senator expressed appreciation for General Brown's dedication to building a capable military force and his clear insights into addressing challenges faced by military services and the defense industrial base. "I appreciated General Brown’s laser-focus on building and sustaining a force capable of deterring and defeating our most dangerous adversaries, and his candid insights into what the military services and our defense industrial base must do to address these growing challenges," he noted.
Senator McConnell emphasized his intention to collaborate with General Brown and senior leaders in the incoming Administration at the Pentagon to enhance America's military strength. "I look forward to working with General Brown and the incoming Administration’s senior leaders at the Pentagon to restore America’s hard power."
