U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell has expressed his approval following the confirmation of Russell Vought as Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). In a statement, McConnell highlighted the importance of addressing budgetary challenges and foreign threats that impact economic prosperity and national security.

"America faces growing budgetary challenges as well as growing foreign threats that undermine our economic prosperity and national security," McConnell stated. He emphasized the need for the administration to manage fiscal responsibilities while investing in measures to maintain peace through strength.

McConnell described Vought as "experienced and demonstrably qualified" for the role at OMB. He expressed his willingness to collaborate with Vought and President Trump on upcoming challenges. "I look forward to working with him and President Trump to address these looming challenges," he said.

The senator also underscored Congress's role in appropriating funds and ensuring national defense, expressing hope that Vought will work closely with Congress in fulfilling these duties. "Congress has inherent Constitutional authority to appropriate funds and an obligation to provide for the common defense. I hope and expect Mr. Vought will coordinate closely with Congress in this vital work," McConnell concluded.
