U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell has expressed his support following the confirmation of Dan Driscoll as the United States Secretary of the Army. In a statement released from Washington, D.C., McConnell emphasized the importance of Driscoll's role amid current global tensions.

“Dan Driscoll steps into the role of Army Secretary at a pivotal moment. Today, we face an axis of aggressors in Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, and we owe it to our servicemembers and the American people to plan accordingly," said McConnell. He underscored the necessity for strategic planning in maintaining America's military capabilities.

McConnell highlighted that he plans to work closely with Driscoll from his position on the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. "The Secretary must take on the essential task of building up and maintaining the backbone of American hard power," he stated.

Further emphasizing support for military personnel and infrastructure, McConnell noted, "He must support our men and women in uniform and strengthen our Army installations, such as the three premier installations in Kentucky."

Additionally, McConnell stressed long-term strategic planning under Driscoll's leadership: "And importantly, Secretary Driscoll must bring a sea change to the way we plan for the future – preserving our peace not through one-time injections and half-measures but by getting serious about strengthening our hand and sustaining America’s military edge long term.”
