U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell has expressed satisfaction with the confirmation of Jamieson Greer as the U.S. Trade Representative. In his statement, McConnell highlighted the importance of free and fair trade policies for American jobs, particularly those linked to industries such as auto manufacturing and bourbon production in Kentucky.

McConnell stated, "Millions of American jobs – including the many thousands tied to auto manufacturing and bourbon production in Kentucky – depend on policies that preserve free and fair trade." He emphasized his confidence in Greer's understanding of the role that trade with allies plays in ensuring America's security and prosperity.

The senator also underscored the Senate's constitutional role over international trade policy and expressed his intention to collaborate closely with Greer. McConnell added, "I look forward to working closely with Jamieson to put American workers in the best possible position as he executes the President's trade agenda."

Greer's confirmation is seen as a critical step in advancing the current administration's trade objectives, aiming to support American workers and industries through strategic international partnerships.
