U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) expressed his concern on the Senate floor regarding the Biden Administration's decision to withhold military aid from Israel, a move he believes provides support to terrorists.

"The idea that we would cut off military aid to an ally – our only true, true ally in the entire region – is absolutely preposterous. It’s just beyond my comprehension why anyone would do that," McConnell quoted, referring to a statement made by then-candidate Biden five years ago.

McConnell criticized the current administration for its refusal to answer questions about this decision and for dodging requests for a serious rationale behind it. He pointed out that the administration is under significant pressure from anti-Israel factions within its own party.

The Republican leader also accused some of his Democratic colleagues of meddling in Israel's politics and elections, which he finds ironic given that the Intelligence Committee is holding a hearing about foreign interference in U.S. politics and elections.

He dismissed claims about an Israeli government dominated by far-right forces as baseless, stating that Israel is led by a coalition national unity government whose war cabinet includes members of multiple political parties.

McConnell warned that if the Biden Administration continues to obstruct Israel's progress towards restoring its security against terrorists, part of the blame for Hamas' success may rest with Washington. He further criticized Western institutions for their anti-Israel bias and their tendency to legitimize terrorist propaganda.

The Senator also condemned the United Nations for relying on inaccurate data provided by Hamas regarding Palestinian casualties and pointed out that employees of the U.N.'s Relief and Works Agency participated in recent attacks.

In conclusion, McConnell urged for rebuilding military power, standing with allies, deterring adversaries, and doing so immediately. He warned that failing to meet one challenge compounds others faced by the nation.
