U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) commended several colleagues on the Senate floor for their work on resolutions aimed at curbing what he termed as the Biden Administration's overreach.

McConnell stated, “I’d like to briefly commend several of our colleagues for their work on resolutions the Senate will consider to roll back yet another slate of Biden Administration overreach." He further noted that these resolutions were being considered under the Congressional Review Act.

The Senate was set to vote on a resolution from Senator Schmitt, which seeks to halt the Treasury Department’s extension of massive recovery funds for a pandemic emergency that McConnell believes has long since passed.

Another upcoming vote involves a resolution from Senator Lummis, aiming to repeal what McConnell described as a "hasty, short-sighted power-grab by the SEC" that hampers the deployment of new digital financial technologies.

In addition, there will be a vote in the coming days on Senator Cruz’s resolution to repeal a new Department of Energy rule on gas furnace efficiency standards. This rule is seen as threatening to drive a significant portion of existing residential furnace models out of the market and increase costs for seniors, small businesses, and low-income households.

McConnell concluded his remarks by expressing gratitude towards his colleagues leading these efforts and urged the Senate to pass each resolution.
