McConnell emphasized his appreciation for various teams within the Senate that have contributed significantly during his tenure as Republican Leader. He acknowledged Karen Gibson's leadership in the office of the Sergeant at Arms and praised senior staff like Jennifer Hemingway for managing substantial responsibilities ranging from security procedures to telecommunications infrastructure.
He expressed particular gratitude to several departments including "The Protocol Office," "The Chief Information Office," "Capitol Facilities," "The Employee Assistance Program," and others who play crucial roles in maintaining operations within the Senate.
Additionally, McConnell thanked Ann Berry, Secretary of the Senate, along with her professional staff such as Sydney Butler. He noted their involvement in numerous critical operations across different offices including "The Senate Library," "The Office of Interparliamentary Services," and more.
Special mention was made of Chaplain Barry Black and his team for addressing spiritual needs within the Senate community. The U.S. Capitol Police were also recognized for ensuring safety and security on Capitol Hill.
