U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell has released a statement regarding his meeting with John Ratcliffe, President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for the position of Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. The meeting took place as part of the preparations for the upcoming administration.

McConnell expressed his approval following their discussion: “I was glad to meet today with President-elect Trump’s nominee to serve as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe." He emphasized the importance of intelligence work amid current global challenges, stating that "in the face of a growing array of coordinated threats, America will rely as much as ever on the intelligence professionals of the CIA."
