Calvert City Lions Club Announces Grand Marshal Of Christmas Parade

Calvert City Lions Club Announces Grand Marshal Of Christmas Parade

The Calvert City Lions Club will sponsor its 63rd Christmas parade on Saturday, December 3 along Fifth Ave in Calvert City beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tammie Smith will be the Grand Marshal.

Tammie Smith has been chosen as the Grand Marshal for her community involvement as president of the Calvert City Country Club, Marshall County Photography Club, CADA member, and a loyal supporter of the Calvert City Lions Club.

This is the 63rd year for the parade and Calvert City has the honor and distinction of having the longest, continuous-running Christmas parade in Western Kentucky.  Once again, this year’s parade will be at night and the theme is “Christmas Lights Everywhere!”

Businesses, churches, and organizations are encouraged to enter a float in the parade. The parade entries are requested to assemble at Pathway Baptist Church at 4:45 pm. There is no pre-registration for the parade. Floats will be judged at 5:30 p.m. with the parade kicking off at 6:00 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded for best use of lights on a float, best use of lights for a golf cart, best float that represents our theme, and overall best float. Float entries other than the Lions Club’s float may not include Santa Claus.

The parade route will begin at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and KY 95 and then proceed along Fifth Avenue to the Calvert City Civic Center where Santa will meet with the children and the Calvert City Lions will provide free hotdogs and drinks to all participants.

For more information regarding the parade, please contact parade chairman Terry Davis at terry72448@gmail.com or call him at (270) 395-7198.
