U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell has announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be providing significant funding for regional airports in Kentucky. Barkley Regional Airport in Paducah, Kentucky, will receive $379,620, while Stuart Powell Field in Danville, Kentucky, will be awarded $294,000.

The funding, which is part of the Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) Program, will be used to overhaul critical infrastructure at both airports. The AIG Program was established under the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), which was championed by McConnell and signed into law by the President in 2021.
