WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) took to the Senate floor to express his concerns regarding President Biden's nomination of Adeel Mangi to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. McConnell highlighted the controversy surrounding the nomination, stating, "When a nominee finds himself in trouble, it’s interesting to note how people react. It’s been particularly notable in the case of President Biden’s radical pick for the Third Circuit court of appeals."

McConnell continued by addressing the troubling affiliations of Mr. Mangi, noting, "I’ve spoken many times about Mr. Mangi: First to lay out his highly troubling affiliations with a center that promoted anti-Semitism and Islamic terror." He also emphasized the opposition from various groups, saying, "We’ve received letter after letter from Jewish organizations and police groups expressing their outrage at this nomination."

The Senator criticized the efforts by Democrats to support Mangi, pointing out their emphasis on his religious identity and the search for additional letters of support. McConnell highlighted the endorsement from Muslims for Progressive Values, questioning the rationale behind their support given the organization's controversial stances on issues like racism and Israel.

McConnell raised concerns about Mr. Mangi's associations with radical groups and his law firm's response to the controversy. He noted the firm's decision to distance itself from the anti-Semitic center Mangi was involved with, stating, "During the Judiciary Committee’s investigation into this nominee, they found that his firm is a listed sponsor of a law fellowship at the same anti-Semitic center at Rutgers that Mr. Mangi advised." McConnell highlighted the firm's decision to withdraw support after learning about the center's activities.

In conclusion, McConnell urged the Senate to reject Mr. Mangi's nomination, emphasizing the divide between traditional liberals distancing themselves from the nominee and radicals embracing him.
